Julia Cooks Coffee Cake is just delicious – and we can say that because every time we bake some, it disappears in a flash. Here is the secret – the cake part of the coffee cake has to be tender and moist. That lets the rich sweet depth of the cinnamon sweet shine through. And the cake can’t be too sweet – then it is just a cloying treat.
We top it with a delicious crumble. Trust us – it is going to be hard to NOT eat this all in one sitting – it is that good.
This is served in an 8×8 pan – it should serve 6 – but really you are going to eat so much of it, it is probably less than that. Make sure you have a good cup of coffee (or our kids like milk) with it…
